Factory farms pollute our environment, our drinking water, and puts our health and food supply at risk. It also contributes to climate change, devastates rural communities, and gives control of our food to corporations. For these reasons and more, it’s time to ban factory farms. CAFO’s- Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations have taken over livestock production, producing enormous amounts of waste. The animals are treated inhumanely, the workers are exploited, the use of antibiotics has resulted in antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and the lack of regulation has resulted in untreated waste that is causing rural communities to have contaminated water and toxic air.
