Months ago, I remember writing about this “so called” transparency regulation, which would prevent the EPA from using scientific population studies that honored participants privacy, in determining the safety of chemicals, preservatives, water, and fresh air. Well, now the regulation is taking effect, and it will have an impact on what pesticides are considered safe, how much lead can be in your water, or how much mercury can be released from a power plant. And isn’t it ironic that they are trying to “greenwash” the regulation, by using the term “transparency” which we think of as good, but in this case, it’s applying to people’s privacy.
