In the News: Following the Coconut Oil Yo-Yo!

Years ago, when I first became a vegetarian, I was taught that coconut oil was bad, and to avoid it whenever possible.

Fast forward 30 plus years, and coconut oil gained the reputation as a super food, claiming it promotes weight loss, lowers blood pressure, protects against heart disease, increases energy, reduces inflammation in the body, and helps to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

Well, it seems the science is back in again, and it is re-confirming the info I had from my youth, that coconut oil is a saturated fat, and it is NOT a Health Food!! Science tells us to limit our saturated fat intake, which can lead to high cholesterol and clogged arteries,, so we need to remove coconut oil from our healthy oil list once again!
