In recognition of Earth Week, the New York Times came out with this fantastic article on Climate Change, sharing the most accurate scientific information, answering all of our questions, and letting us know where the information came from. Please take a moment to read it and share it around. The more people understand about the issue of climate change, the more likely they will be to take action, whether that means supporting policies that will help reduce our greenhouse gas emissions as a nation, or changing one’s own personal habits to reduce one’s own global footprint.
Food and agriculture are huge contributors to climate change, and reducing or eliminating animal products from one’s diet can make a big difference! We need to tackle this problem from all sides, so that our children and grandchildren have a planet that is inhabitable.
George Floyd’s Killer is Convicted!
Justice was upheld today in the conviction of the brutal killing of George Floyd at the hands of Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer. While I wish we could turn the clocks back, and return to life all of the people that have been killed by police, this is at least a first step in recognizing the racism and white supremacy that exists within the police department and in our society as a whole. It is an issue that exists in all facets of our society, and it is long overdue for dismantling!
