May 11th, 2nd Annual Riverkeeper Sweep

May 11, 2013 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The second annual Riverkeeper Sweep?our annual day of service for the Hudson River?will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

In 2012 the Riverkeeper Sweep engaged 450 volunteers, who cleaned up seven tons of shoreline trash and planted more than 100 trees in 30 Hudson River communities. In 2013, we aim to double our impact, with the help of new partners, The Great Saw Mill River Cleanup program of Groundwork Hudson Valley, Keep Rockland Beautiful, Make Poughkeepsie Shine, and Empire Dragon Boat Team?s Jennifer?s Annual Flushing Bay Shoreline Cleanup.

For Sweep Volunteers
Riverkeeper expects as many as 1,000 volunteers to take part in the 2013 Riverkeeper Sweep. To find a site near you, review the map or list below and click on the links to register. Those who register and participate are eligible for raffle prizes and a freebie at one of seven participating breweries.

For Sweep Leaders
Riverkeeper is working with more than 70 volunteers throughout New York City and the Hudson Valley to coordinate service projects at more than 60 locations. If you want to organize a cleanup, register your site, and check out these resources for Sweep leaders.
