Last week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Mary Berry, the Founder of The Berry Center in Kentucky. She has set up the center, to continue the work of her grandfather, and father, Wendell Berry, who were visionaries into the state of our agricultural system, and who started the conversation about returning to a local, sustainable, food system. It was so refreshing to actually talk with someone who is personally familiar with, and living within the realities of the unjust farm policies that are in place, and sharing with us, what that looks like in a county like her. If you missed the show, please have a listen. It will open you up to another perspective, that of the middle size farmer, trying to support his or her family.
