Hi All,
I guess you all have heard the news? The Environmental Protection Agency has determined, after doing an elaborate environmental impact statement, that the Keystone XL pipeline will have no negative impact on the environment. Isn’t that special! Are they kidding! It makes my blood boil when a government agency can blatantly ignore science and history, and come up with a ridiculous statement like that. I realize that these issues are not simple and that we have a relationship with Canada that is important to keep, however, the future and well-being of people and the planet has to come first. I hope you all take the time to “take action” on my website and let President Obama know how you feel. He has the power and we have to encourage him to make the right decision. Also, please plan on joining us this summer for the next Forward on Climate protest. I will keep you posted!
This week, my guest on the Progressive Radio Network is Fekkak Mamdouh, the Co-Founder of Restaurant Opportunities Centers United. For those of you who listened to my show a few weeks ago, I had on his partner Saru Jayaraman and discussed the issues revolving around food workers in this country. My conversation with Fekkak will be a continuation of why it is important to raise the awareness of the plight of restaurant workers, packers, and farm workers in this country. Please join me for what will certainly a thought-provoking conversation.
