Hi Everyone,
I want to share my interview with Chef Michael Anthony with all of you. For those of you who do not know Chef Michael, he is the Executive Chef at Gramercy Tavern and at the restaurants, Untitled, and Studio Cafe at the Whitney Museum of American Art. It was such a pleasure to talk with him. He is real, down to earth, and passionate about what he does, and you can feel that in his food and in his restaurants. His training in both Japanese and French Cuisine, with all their rules, provided him with the perfect foundation, so that when he got to New York, he could take off and let his creativity and freedom shine. His most recent cookbook, V is for Vegetables, highlights his appreciation for the beauty and taste of fresh, seasonal vegetables. His approach is simple and straightforward, and the recipes are geared for the home cook, because he wants to inspire and help parents, who need to put food on the table every day, to do so with minimal stress and lots of success. Chef Michael applauds parents who make time to cook everyday. He understands the day to day pressures we all are living in, and how difficult it can be, yet he recognizes how important it is to feed your family, real, healthy food.
