The Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance brings its groundbreaking, six-day Seed School to Vermont this summer! This immersion course is designed to train students how to build local seed systems rooted in the ancient tradition of seed saving. Join special guest instructor John Navazio (head plant breeder at Johnny’s Selected Seeds) and others alongside RMSA staff for a powerful learning experience in the world of seed saving.
This residential Seed School is an intermediate-level course. Some prior knowledge of basic plant biology, genetics, and taxonomy is recommended. Students walk away from this innovative educational experience with the knowledge and inspiration to save their own seed and perhaps start their own independent seed initiatives, such as community seed libraries and exchanges, seed growers cooperatives, heirloom seed businesses, and participatory plant breeding projects.
