February 26th: DEC Public Hearings on the Williams NESE Pipeline
February 26, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
free
Tuesday February 26 at 2pm and 6pm
Bay Ridge Manor Hotel 476 76th Street, Brooklyn
Hey Williams pipeline fighters!
It’s an all hands on deck moment! The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced the date for their only public hearings on the proposed Williams NESE fracked gas pipeline.
We need to pack these hearings and let the DEC know the many reasons New Yorkers say no to the Williams pipeline in NY Harbor.
If you can’t make it to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on the 26th, you can still submit a written comment to the DEC at NESEproject@dec.ny.gov. (And even if you can make it, please also send in written comments!) Starting next week, we’ll be sending out suggested comments, so keep an eye out for that. The deadline to submit a comment is March 1 at 5pm.
The DEC has until May 16 to approve or deny the pipeline so it’s never been more crucial for us to raise our voices and say NO to a fracked gas future for NY.
We can and we will stop this pipeline.
On Thursday we delivered over 14,400 petition signatures to Governor Cuomo calling on him to be a real climate leader and stop the Williams NESE pipeline for good. A growing number of NYC Public Advocate candidates and elected officials, including NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer have also come out against the pipeline.
Momentum is building, but we’ve got to keep it up! RSVP: DEC Public Hearings on the Williams NESE Pipeline
