The Coalition of Immokalee Workers has succeeded in getting every major fast food chain — and major supermarket chains like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s — to commit to buying tomatoes only from those farms that have agreed to these conditions. Except for one fast food chain: Wendy’s.In response, CIW is sponsoring a national boycott of Wendy’s. On July 19, at 5:00pm, in midtown Manhattan, CIW and its supporters will rally at the office of Wendy’s chairman — Wall St. mogul Nelson Peltz.
