May 23rd, Join the Small Planet Institute for their “Roots of Resilience in an Age of Crisis” Series

May 21, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

The Small Planet Institute is partnering with The New School at Commonweal for a virtual speaker series this spring focused on the Roots of Resilience in an Age of Crisis: Land, Seeds, and Water. This series features leading thinkers and doers for deep conversations about the interconnectedness of these crises and how we find our way out.

Then, we explore the diverse world of seeds with Seed-Saving: Preserving Culture and Building Resilience. Seed savers Kristyn Leach of Namu Farm and Second Generation Seeds in Yolo County, California and Jessika Greendeer of Dream of Wild Health in Twin Cities, Minnesota will talk about the “why” behind their seed-saving practices. Together with host Tiffani Patton, Jessika and Kristyn will explore the role of seed-saving in preserving and connecting to culture and why we need seed diversity to withstand the climate crisis.
