?Slow Food USA and Oxfam America invite you to a panel discussion featuring Ghanaian cocoa farmers, Mr. Kwesi Boateng Afriyie and Ms. Christiana Adusei, of the nationwide Divine Chocolate tour.? Slow Food USA’s Executive Director, Richard McCarthy, and Oxfam America’s Regional Advocacy Lead, Will Fenton, will also speak at this event. As an important member of the Slow Food community, we hope you can join us to hear the personal stories of these farmers participating in a fair trade cooperative, their hopes for agriculture and the challenges for the next generation to stay engaged in this livelihood. The event is an opportunity to learn about the functioning of the Kuapo cooperative, which markets around 70% of the world?s fair trade chocolate, and to gain insight into the experiences of small-scale farmers working towards democratic decision-making and shared wealth.
