Hi Everyone,
Today I interviewed Mark Dunlea, the Executive Director of the Hunger Action Network of NYS. The work his organization is doing to advocate for the less fortunate, and to lobby for policy that helps working class families, children, the disabled and senior citizens, is so important. He reminded me of the need to continuously lobby our senators and members of the assembly, to let them know that we support a just Food and Farm Bill, one that doesn’t cut off assistance to those receiving SNAP benefits, along with programs that support the smaller, organic farmer. As he said, the Farm Bill is the blueprint for our food system, and right now, it is a pretty sad, broken, and unhealthy blueprint. We can do better! All of us need to get involved, to let our congress people know that we want a just Food and Farm Bill, one that benefits the people and not the corporations! To find out more about the Hunger Action Network of NYS, listen to my interview with Mark Dunlea, and to see what actions you can take to help lobby for a just Food and Farm Bill, go to their website at; http://www.hungeractionnys.org/
