Yesterday I had a great talk with Tom Lyon, about volunteerism and his work in the food justice system. Tom has been a volunteer with the Heifer International Organization for the past 25 years, and is the Co-Director of Hobbs Community Farm in Centereach, NY. Tom has been instrumental in bringing the work of Heifer International to Long Island and in helping them to expand on their sustainable development and educational programs. As the co-director of Hobbs Farm, Tom has helped to transform and build a community resource and educational center for the area. If you missed the show live, please have a listen here.
