iEat Green Goes to Burning Man; and Interviews Patrick O’Neill, Founder and CEO of Amp Your Good

Hi All,

This has been a whirlwind of a week! I catered a party this weekend, harvested my peach tree yesterday, FullSizeRender-2my fingerling potatoes today, and now I am boxing up my supplies to ship off to Burning Man! I will be traveling with a group of friends, and we will all be a part of the art camp, Infinity Box Community. I volunteered to be the chef for the camp,  which means I am responsible for breakfast and dinner for 40 people for the week! This is going to be a new experience for me, having never been to Burning Man before, and having never cooked in a make shift kitchen with a camp stove and no running water before, but I am excited! Burning Man has been on my bucket list for quite a while, and I am so glad to be finally going! Please wish me luck! I’ll be gone all next week, so I will not be doing my radio show on September 3rd, but PRN will be playing one of my favorite past shows. FullSizeRender-1

This week, on the Progressive Radio Network, my guest will be Patrick O’Neill, the Founder and CEO of Amp Your Good, a company dedicated to helping organizations run food drives, using fresh produce instead of canned items. How do they do it? First they talk with the organization wanting to run the food drive. Then they talk to the recipient organization, to find out what fresh ingredients they would like to receive. Based on those conversations, Amp Your Good, creates a list of items for the food drive. They have it all set up on line, so that people can make a monetary donation to purchase the fresh produce that the recipient organization needs, and at the end of the food drive, Amp Your Good delivers all of the fresh produce right to the recipient organization’s door. It is getting healthy food to the people that need it the most. I was so excited to learn about Amp Your Good, and know that it will be a game changer for the future of food drives. I hope you can join us on Thursday!
