Hi Everybody,
This is an exciting week, as I prepare to pack up my induction wok, and head off to Costa Rica to teach some cooking at Envision 2016! I had the pleasure of attending Envision 2014, and was so pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the programming, the environmental awareness, the art, music, dance, spirituality and yoga, and the ability to bring all of these different elements together under one festival. The only thing missing was cooking! It seemed like the perfect venue to teach healthy cooking and the principles behind how our food choices effect the environment and our health, to a huge audience of young people who want to make this world a better place. Well, fast forward 2 years, and now I am on the schedule! I am really looking forward to awakening the radical, activist chef, in all of them!
Please join me on Thursday, for an interview with Brett Tolley, the Community Organizer for the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance (NAMA). Brett is from a fourth generation fishing family in Massachusetts. He is actively working at the intersection of marine conservation and social justice, and bringing that awareness into the public domain. He is on the board of directors for Farm to Institution New England (FINE) and serves on the core team helping to grow the Slow Fish USA network. He currently lives in Brooklyn.
