Hi Everyone,
Yesterday I had a great interview with Joel Berg, the Executive Director of the New York Coalition Against Hunger. His passion
could be felt through the air. It is ridiculous that in a nation as wealthy as ours, we have 48 million people living in poverty, who are food insecure. Unfortunately, most of them are children, senior citizens, veterans and women. Most of them are working one, two or three jobs to make ends meet, but with the cost of living so high, especially here in NY, and minimum wage so low, they just can’t make ends meet. The New York Coalition is a non profit advocacy organization that is working hard to change policy, and to push for programs that will help alleviate hunger, both in New York and the rest of the country.
If you, or anyone you know is hungry, they can go to their national hotline at http://nyccah.org/usdanationalhungerhotline. There they will be dircted to the closest agency that could help them.
Also, if you want to volunteer, and offer your professional services or skills, they have a website for that too. Check out

Lastly, if you want to know more about what the organization does, go to their website at
