Hi Everybody,
As Earth Day approaches, we have an opportunity to come together and demand our government to put the health and welfare of the people and the environment, BEFORE the profits of the corporations. On April 23rd, the day after Earth Day, there are buses from around the State, heading up to Albany to demand that Governor Cuomo stand by his words, and do the work to fight climate change, create good jobs, and ensure justice for all! That means ending all fracking infrastructure projects, including the transport of the dirty fracked gas through pipelines and rail cars, and the spreading of contaminated water to DE-ice our streets! We need to move NYS to 100% renewable energy, and we need to make the corporate polluters pay to clean up their messes! In addition to the Rally and March, there will be a civil disobedience component, which you can sign up for here. I hope to see many of you on the bus or up in Albany! (If you get on my bus, I will feed you!)
iEat Green is still looking for a few college students who are interested in sustainability and organic growing, to work with me in the garden and the kitchen. We grow a variety of organic and heirloom vegetables, along with some fruit, which we use during the season, to cook for our many community activities and events. If interested, please send me your resume and cover letter.
My guest this week on the Progressive Radio Network is Patrick O’Neill, Founder and CEO of Amp Your Good. Amp Your Good is an organization designed to make food drives more successful by making them easier to organize, easier to donate to, more social, more environmentally friendly and more fun. They also address one of the biggest issues with food drives – the inability to donate fresh fruits and vegetables, which is what the charity really needs, and what the people really want! Amp Your Good uses technology to make helping out easier to do, and more impactful. They call it Crowd-Feeding, and it’s part of the #GiveHealthy Movement. Prior to founding Amp Your Good, Patrick served in the US Army, worked in real estate, energy, technology and social enterprise, and founded and co-founded several companies. He served on the board of directors of for both profit and non profit companies, and was always driven to do good and give back to his community. Amp Your Good combines Pat’s passion for disruptive technology, healthy eating, and for making a difference in the lives of others. Please join me on Thursday to learn more about Amp Your Good and the #GiveHealthy Movement!
