iEat Green is Cooking Up a Storm for the LI Food and Film Feast! Chef Anita Lo Joins Bhavani on PRN to Talk About her New Book, “SOLO”

Hi All,

There are only 11 days left until the Long Island Food and Film Feast takes over the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, and tickets are going fast. This event always sells out, so don’t wait to purchase your tickets. We have a great line up of short documentary films with wonderful speakers, highlighting great local food and addressing many of the food issues we are all concerned about.  iEat Green, along with volunteers from Slow Food North Shore, will be preparing dishes that are inspired from the films, like a BBQ Jackfruit Slider, or a Fair Trade decadent Chocolate Mousse. If you’ve never tried BBQ Jackfruit, this is your opportunity! I’m told it’s similar to BBQ pulled pork, although I’ve never had the later, but it is really scrumptious! Special diets can be accommodated, if you send us an email prior to the event. Check out the attached flyer, and get your tickets today!

My guest this week is the award winning chef, Anita Lo,  who worked at Bouley and Chanterelle before opening her own Michelin-starred restaurant, Annisa, in the heart of Manhattan’s Greenwich Village in 2000, which she ran until it closed in 2017. Food & Wine named her one of ten Best New Chefs in America, and The Village Voice proclaimed her Best New Restaurant Chef. She has appeared on Top Chef Masters, Iron Chef America, and Chopped; in 2015, she became the first female guest chef to cook at the White House. Anita’s new cookbook, Solo, is the perfect cookbook for people who find it challenging to cook for only one! The book is filled with delicious, inspiring recipes, easy to make for a party of one. Please join me on Thursday for some great tips and a lively conversation.
