iEat Green Provides Food for the Women’s Diversity Summit! Glen Cove Public Schools has a New Farm to School Coordinator! John Todd, Author of “Healing Earth” Joins Bhavani on PRN!

Hi Everyone,

This past Saturday was the 2nd Annual Women’s Diversity Summit at SUNY Old Westbury, and I was asked to provide some Vegan and Gluten Free Options for 350 people. We served a Japanese Stir Fry with Quinoa, along with Cold Brown Rice Sesame Noodles. They had an awesome turnout and a very successful event!

I wanted to share some exciting news! Glen Cove Public Schools has been awarded a grant to bring more fresh, local, NYS grown, fruits and vegetables into the public school system, and I am their new Farm to School Coordinator! I am looking forward to working with our local farmers to procure the veggies, and with the kitchen staff to develop recipes that the kids will love. Stay tuned!!

My guest this week on the Progressive Radio Network is Dr. John Todd, one of the pioneers of the new field of ecological design, and author of the new book, Healing Earth.  John did his undergraduate work at McGill University in Agriculture & Parasitology, and got his PhD at the University of Michigan in Fisheries & Oceanography. He is an Emeritus Research Professor and Distinguished Lecturer at the University of Vermont, and a Fellow at the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics. He is Founder and President of John Todd Ecological Design, and President of Ocean Arks International, an NGO dedicated to publishing, and to healing the inshore oceans. He is based in Wood Hole, MA.

Dr. Todd is widely published and is the author of over two hundred scientific, technical and popular articles. He is the author or co-author of seven books and is the inventor of Eco-Machines ™ and holds five patents. His passion and his work revolve around the broad field of planetary healing and regeneration.

I am thrilled to have Dr. John Todd joining me on the Progressive Radio Network. I hope you can tune it!
