iEat Green Shares Interview with Alex Gerofsky about The World U.P. Foundation and Their Mobile Produce Pantry!

Hi Everyone,

Today I had the opportunity to talk with Alexander Gerofsky, about a new non-profit organization he helped to get off the ground in Richmond, VA., The World U.P. Foundation.

U.P. stands for Understanding and Peaceful, and they are applying that term to a global community.  The World U.P. Foundation is a collective of innovative and passionate people who dream of an Understanding and Peaceful global community, where everyone belongs, is celebrated, and is appreciated for their differences. The World U.P. Foundation is working to improve access to resources that allow people to connect, learn, and empower each other through kindness and love.

Their first project was the launching of the Mobile Produce Pantry, where they provide fresh produce to a local food pantry through a partnership with Feed More, Central Virginia’s leading food bank. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they have had to re-tool their operation to create boxes of produce for pick up, rather than providing people the opportunity to pick their own produce. The World U.P. is still in their infancy stage, and I look forward to seeing how they grow in the years ahead.
