iEat Green Shares Interview with Alina Zolotareva from AeroFarms

Hi All,

I just finished my interview with Alina Zolotareva, the Senior Marketing and Nutrition Manager at AeroFarms, the largest vertical farm in the world. I was so impressed with their operation, where they grow 1-1/2 million to 2 million pounds of fresh leafy greens every year! The best part is, they do it without the use of pesticides or herbicides, using 95% less water than traditional agriculture. It may not be organic, but it is local, fresh, and very high in nutritional value. I believe there is room in the market for both, organic and aeroponic/hydroponic. What we need to do away with, it the industrial, conventional agriculture system that depletes the soil, poisons us and animals with pesticides and herbicides, pollutes our water ways, and kills off marine life and creates dead zones in our rivers and oceans. We need to encourage cooperation and transparency, so that everyone can make an informed choice.

Alina is also the host of her own podcast, which you can find at https://seedsandthecity.com/ and @SEEDSANDTHECITYPODCAST on instagram.  If you missed our interview, you can listen to it here!
