iEat Green Shares Interview with Dr. Pam Popper, Founder of Wellness Forum Health and Author of ‘Food Over Medicine’

Hi All,

I had a great interview yesterday with naturopath, Dr. Pam Popper, who spoke so eloquently about our health care system, and the lack of research most people do when diagnosed with a condition. For most people, if their doctor tells them they should take a particular medication, or do a procedure for a medical condition, most people just do it, without questioning it. However, if you are purchasing an appliance, car, or home, you do lots of research. There is a disconnect when it comes to our health. We are trained to be gullible and to take what a doctor says as the end all. Wellness Forum Health is a place you can go and have easy access to all the pertinent research that your doctor did not offer you, and that he or she probably doesn’t even know about. Did you know that in medical school, most doctors only get about 5 hours of training in nutrition?

Most of you, if you get my newsletter, already know that the foods we eat has a direct link to our health, but if you’re trying to heal a particular disease or ailment, you still need help. There is lots of information on the internet, but trusting the source, is very important. So much of the research is paid for by companies that have a financial gain from the outcome, so trusting the results is questionable. As informed consumers, we can make a difference, and we are already seeing the outcomes of that by the availability of healthy foods in our supermarkets and vegan options on menus. We need to collectively keep pushing forward, and take the responsibility of our health into our own hands. I don’t mean not to seek expert advise, I just mean to do the research, and make sure you are looking into all of the options available, using your natural bodies wisdom to heal.
