iEat Green Shares Interview with Dr. Vanita Rahman, Clinical Director at the Barnard Medical Center and Author of the New Book, “Simply Plant Based”

Hi Everyone,

I had a great interview today with Dr. Vanita Rahman about her work as an internist who promotes eating a plant based diet. It turns out, her entire team at the Barnard Medical Center recommends plant based diets to all of their patients. We debunked many of the myths that traditional medicine would like you to believe, such as; you can’t get enough protein on a plant based diet, or that eating soy foods is dangerous. There is plenty of protein in vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, and we only need 10-15% of our calories from protein. And did you know soy foods are a great antidote for hot flashes?

Dr. Rahman also leads clinical research at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and is a certified nutritionist, and personal trainer. Her new book, Simply Plant Based is full of wonderful recipes that are easy and quick to make, and is a great book to add to your library.

If you missed our interview, you can listen to it below.
