This past Thursday, I had a great interview with Eveline Hartz, the Chair Member of “World on Your Plate”, which is a conference on food, nutrition, farming, the environment, and politics. This is the 13th year of the conference and it is held at Daemon College, near Buffalo, NY. Their keynote speaker is Francis Moore Lappe, author of Diet for a Small Planet, which was the book I read when I was 16, that set me on my path of vegetarianism and food politics. She is responsible for opening up my eyes to the myths we are fed about nutrition, meat consumption, food shortages, and animal welfare. I have heard her speak before, and she is wonderful.
