iEat Green Shares Interview with Lauren Ornelas from the Food Empowerment Project

Hi All,

I had a great interview on Thursday with Lauren Ornelas about her work at the Food Empowerment Project, which is a non profit organization working to educate the public on the inhumane treatment of factory raised animals and the benefits of becoming vegan. At the same time, they support campaigns that are designed to raise the working conditions for our farm workers, and support a living wage. Their campaign “Shame on Safeway” is working to create regulations that would prevent supermarkets like Safeway from prohibiting another supermarket from taking over their lease for 15 years, after they relocate, leaving a neighborhood market-less, and without access to fresh healthy food. To learn more about the Food Empowerment Project and the work they do, listen to our interview below and check out their website!
