It was such a treat to be in conversation with another Farm to School Educator, especially one that has been doing it for so many years! Misse is the Farm to School Educator at The Vermont Farm and Forest School at Drift Farmstead. She has over 20 years experience in sustainable agriculture and is the lead teacher at her school. In addition to running the programs at the Vermont Farm and Forest School, Misse works in a dozen schools in Central Vermont teaching farm, food, and nutrition. Vermont’s Farm to School Program, known as VT-FEED (Food Education Every Day), along with Shelburne Farms, is a leader in the country in Farm-Based Education. Misse’s passion to connect children with nature informs the way she integrates the curriculum with hands on experiences in cooking and farming.
