Hi Everyone,

I had a great interview this past week with Mitch Gruber, the Chief Strategy Officer for Foodlink. Foodlink is the regional food bank of the Finger Lakes Region, whose mission is to end hunger and build healthier communities through the power of food. During the current Covid19 health crisis, FoodLink has had to discontinue some of their most successful programs, like their mobile food trucks, and focus their attention on getting food to 5,000 school children and other Emergency Food Relief Programs.

FoodLink looks forward to getting through this crisis, so they can welcome in a new group of paid interns for their Food Bank Career Fellowship, where they train previously incarcerated individuals or those living in poverty, for an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty for a career in food. It’s an exciting program that has just doubled its capacity and will train two groups of 15 in this coming year.
