Yesterday, I had a great conversation with author, Shanna Farrell, about her new book, The Good Drink, and how the sustainable food movement is finally infiltrating the spirit side of the menu! And of course it makes total sense! For years I have been promoting organic wine, but I never ventured into the cocktail arena until now. Well, just like the rest of our food system, most liquor and the mixers that accompany them, are filled with preservatives, additives, stabilizers, colors and pesticides. In Shanna Farrell’s, The Good Drink, she takes us on a journey, visiting some of her favorite distillers, and witnessing the movement behind sustainable spirits, and the folks promoting it.
