Carla Perez-Gallardo, the Owner and Chef at Lil’ Deb’s Oasis Joins Bhavani on the Progressive Radio Network!
I’m so excited to introduce Carla Perez-Gallardo to all of you! I have known Carla since she and my son were in nursery school together at the Waldorf School in Garden City, and it has been a pleasure watching her grow and finding her way in the food world. Carla was raised by three Ecuadorian women in Queens, New York. [She/they] was born into a home with a kitchen that was always busy. In seventh grade, her family started Saborines, a pie company named after her grandmother. After graduating from Bard College with a degree in studio arts, they found a place for herself cooking and managing kitchens. Following a brief pause from cooking and a strained attempt to navigate the traditional art world, in 2016 she became co-founder of Lil’ Deb’s Oasis and is now chef-owner & creative director of the James-Beard nominated restaurant and community hub in Hudson, NY.
I hope you can join us for what promises to be a heartfelt, and exciting interview on Thursday!
