This past Thursday, I had a wonderful interview with Karen Pearl about the organization she is heading up, God Love We Deliver. It has been around since the 1980’s and started with one person delivering meals on her bike to a few people struggling with AIDS, and has now grown into a full service program, delivering meals to 5,500 people daily! They provide high quality, nutritious food for both the client and any children or care providers that also need to eat. All of their clients are living with a life threatening diseases, and the majority of them are living below the poverty line. God’s Love We Deliver also acts as a resource, providing their clients with connections to organizations that provide transportation, social work and other services. They only have a staff go 94 people, and depend on over 10,000 volunteers annually to do their work.
