In the News: Plant Based Bowls Contain PFAS and Are Not Environmentally Friendly!

I am so disappointed! I thought plant based ‘take out’ containers were the new best thing, but now I find out that they contain PFAS, (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, a broad class of more than 4,000 chemicals used in carpets, textiles, electronics, cookware, and other goods) and pose a real danger to the environment!

They are marketed as ‘Compostable’, but their chemical compound can remain in the environment for 1000 years, and contaminate our drinking water! Who would have thought? They also can enter the bloodstream, and cluster in the kidneys and lungs. Just another reason to eat at home, cooking your own organic food and storing it in glass containers!
