I am so disappointed that President Elect Biden picked Tom Vilsack as the Secretary of Agriculture. Tom Vilsack was the Department of Agriculture’s Secretary under Obama, and as expected, he continued to support the expansion of GMO’s (genetically modified organisms), CAFO’s (Confined Animal Factory Operations), and the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. I have no reason to believe he will do any better under the Biden administration.

All I can say is we’ve got to keep the pressure on, and let the Biden Administration know that Food Insecurity, Hunger, Organic Agriculture, and the Climate Crisis have to be front and center of the Department of Agriculture’s Mission.

The Coalition for Healthy School Food is offering live, interactive virtual classes, designed to be assigned by teachers for days at home (or to be broadcast in the classroom) or for homeschooling by parents/caregivers.
