My heart is breaking! How can this keep happening without holding the police accountable?

It keeps happening because it is ingrained in the system. It is supported and covered up by the laws that hide police records and makes them inadmissible in court. It is supported by the settlements that are made with our tax payers money, and it is supported by our politicians that take money from police unions.

Yesterday, I joined thousands of protesters in Mineola, to stand in solidarity with my black and brown brothers and sisters, mourning the death of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and all of the others who died at the hands of police brutality.
