The United Nations Climate Summit, COP26, taking place in Glasgow this week is a continuation of the Paris Summit that led to the Paris Agreement in 2015. As you know, our last president withdrew our commitment to the Paris Agreement, so all eyes are on our country to see how serious we are this time around. Unfortunately, we are not coming to the table with the landmark piece of legislation we were hoping for in the Build Back Better Act, but at least this president takes Climate Change seriously. The focus of the Summit will be on the world’s wealthiest nations, known as the Group of 20, and what their leaders are able to commit to in setting new targets for cutting emissions from burning coal, oil and gas.
