My guest this week on the Progressive Radio Network was Josh Morgenthau, the owner and operator of Fishkill Farm in the Hudson Valley of New York. We had a great conversation about his farm, what they grow and produce, and the difference between organic and eco-certified. We also discussed the impact that the immigration laws are having on small family farms, and the difficulty of getting visas even for the legal immigrants who have been working on his farm for years. Josh has been responsible for overseeing the expansion of the farm, and recently put 100 acres of farmland back into production. He has also diversified his operation to include his hobby of making craft hard cider using his homegrown heirloom varieties of apples.
