Take Action: Donate to NOFA-NY Today. They Need Us and We Need Them! Support Island Harvest’s Food Drive! Antibiotic Resistance is Growing! Stop the Williams Pipeline Once and For All!

NOFA-NY (The Northeast Organic Farming Association) is in need of our support. With the government shutdown and the change in tax laws, donations to non profits is at an all time low. NOFA-NY is a voice for the organic movement, for both farmers and eaters. They are working hard to protect the integrity of organic foods, and to support our small family farms. Please consider joining this wonderful organization and supporting the movement!!

Letter Carrier’s 27th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!

Please join me this Saturday, May 11th for the 27th annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive. It’s simple to participate; on Saturday morning before your mail carrier arrives, leave non-perishable food by your mailbox. Your carrier will pick up the food and donate it to Island Harvest Food Bank. We ensure your food is distributed to our neighbors in need.

Antibiotic Resistance Bacteria is Spreading!

The spread of antibiotic resistance bacteria has a direct link to our over use of antibiotics in agriculture! We need a moratorium on using antibiotics in agriculture. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has labeled antibiotic resistance as “one of the world’s most pressing public health problems.”  We need antibiotics to work when we need them, and our over use has caused many bacterial infections to mutate and become resistant to antibiotics. Please sign this petition and let the EPA and Congress know how you feel!

Tell EPA and Congress to save antibiotics for important medical uses and eliminate use as pesticides.

Stop the Williams Pipeline Once and For All!

Could you imagine this in NY harbor?

Time is running out for the Governor to reject this pipeline. Let’s keep the pressure on! If this pipeline is approved, it will cause destruction of our fragile marine eco-system, extend our dependence on fossil fuels, ruin the economy of coastal towns, and put our health at risk.

Tell Governor Cuomo to stop the Williams pipeline!
