You may have heard that Horizon Organics recently cancelled their milk contracts with 89 organic dairy farmers in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and New York.  Danone (which owns Horizon Organic Milk) is the global leader in fresh dairy products and is a $10.3 billion company, but claims they cannot afford to continue supporting family organic dairy farms that have helped build the Horizon Organic brand for decades. As a certified “B Corp” Danone is required to use its business as a force for good, but this disgraceful action is anything but a force for good – except for Danone’s bottom line. We don’t think that dropping 89 family-owned small-scale local businesses is family-, community- or environment-friendly, so we’re asking you to sign this petition demanding that Danone North America and Horizon Organics reinstate those contracts with these farmers.
