Take Action: Help Ban the Herbicide Paraquat! Tell the EPA to Test Pesticides, Including in Combination with Others! (Same Goes for the FDA, to Test Drugs/Vaccinations in Combination with Others)! Don’t Let the USDA Loosen Regulations on GMO’s!

Why is the pesticide, Paraquat, still on the market?
Paraquat is acutely toxic and strongly linked to Parkinson’s disease. Last week, legislation was introduced to cancel all  uses of the pesticide, which kills by burning living tissues. There are alternative methods that can be used, which are not dangerous. Please Tell your U.S. Representative to support H.R. 3817 to cancel the use of paraquat.
The EPA characterizes paraquat as “extremely biologically active and toxic to plants and animals.” Exposure to this herbicide can cause human organ failure by inhalation, oral intake and dermal absorption; chronic toxicity affecting the eyes, lungs, liver, kidneys and endocrine system; and can cause cancers after exposure. It harms birds, fish, amphibians, small mammals, and wildlife.
EPA’s Office of Inspector General Must Investigate EPA’s Failure to Fully Assess Pesticide Hazards
A research study, published in March in Scientific Reports, uncovers the EPA’s ability to ignore safety protocol and raises a larger question regarding the need for the EPA to test for  the synergistic effects of pesticides. When pesticides and chemicals are combined, they can have an even greater effect than they do by themselves.
Did you know the EPA has an investigative office—the Office of Inspector General (OIG)—whose job is to “perform audits and investigations of the EPA to promote economy and efficiency, and to prevent and detect fraud, waste and abuse?” I didn’t know that, but what good is it if they don’t do their job? It makes sense that when you combine different chemicals they can become more dangerous, like mixing bleach and ammonia.
I would venture to say the same can happen with drugs. That’s why I think it is so important for the FDA (Food and Drug Admin) to test how the combination of different drugs and vaccines can react in the body. But we are a far cry from that! Our FDA doesn’t even test for the safety of the drug by itself! They rely on the pharmaceutical company to tell them if it’s safe!
And now we are seeing the loosening of regulations by the USDA (US Dept. of Agriculture) on GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms). Again, one of our governmental offices, which is set up to protect the people, is bowing down to the power of corporations, and allowing them to decide on the safety of their protect. The company that is set to make huge profits on the use of that GMO, pesticide or drug, should not be the company doing the testing! That is just common sense!
