URGENT: Bio-tech companies, like Bayer-Monsanto and Syngenta, are making MILLIONS of dollars promoting pesticides that kill bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. We lost our beehives a few years ago, and the stats are getting worse. According to Friends of the Earth, beekeepers lost an average of 40 percent of their hives last year, with some beekeepers losing 100 percent of their hives. Please let your voices be heard, and sign the petition now!

OMG! Another Pipeline Leaked!

Why should we be surprised? A recent Wall Street Journal review found that there were 1,400 pipeline spills and accidents in the U.S., between 2010–2013. That’s an average of 200 barrels per day! This past Saturday, we witnessed the worst gas spill since 2015 off the coast of Southern California, with 126,000 gallons of oil , spreading over 13 square miles of ocean. Dead fish and birds are washing ashore, and the beaches are closed. What will it take for our politicians to address the climate crisis and stop allowing pipelines to be built? We know pipelines leak, always wrecking havoc on human health and the environment. Below is a petition to stop the Line 3 Pipeline, which will run from Alberta, Canada, to Wisconsin, crossing 227 lakes and rivers, and transporting over 760,000 barrels of tar sands oil through indigenous land. Right here in Brooklyn, the New York Department of Environmental Conservational (DEC) is deciding whether or not to allow National Grid to build two new dirty fracked gas vaporizers at its Greenpoint facility, which lies at the apex of the North Brooklyn pipeline!
Of course, the communities that would be most impacted by these vaporizers, are the same communities that have suffered from decades of environmental racism. The vaporizers would increase air pollution, increase greenhouse gas emissions, and cause health issues for the people living near by, during the pandemic and climate crisis. How stupid it that!!
