Take Action: Stand Up for Offshore Wind Power on LI; Tell Congress We’re Ready for 100% Renewable Energy; Tell the Senate Not to Sell Our Forests to the Timber Industry

Stand Up for Offshore Wind Power on Long Island

Join renewable energy advocates on March 21st, to tell Governor Cuomo and the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) to move forward with offshore wind power for Long Island immediately. Using fossil fuels is an obsolete method of power, it’s time to look to the future and fund renewable energies. The March 21st LIPA board meeting is a key chance to weigh in before a decision is made, and the board is inviting the public to testify. Stand up for offshore wind in Long Island, RSVP to attend the meeting! Transportation is available from NYC.

Tell Congress We’re Ready for 100% Renewable Energy in the U.S.

Sign and share this petition to let Congress know that Americans want clean, renewable energy! This will let Congress know that we support and want all members to endorse the Congressional Progressive Caucus’ climate resolution. This resolution’s goal is zero emissions by 2050, and lays out the steps to get to that goal. We already signed, so help support the resolution by signing and sharing the petition!

Tell the Senate Not to Sell Our Forests to the Timber Industry

The Senate and the timber industry want everyone to believe that burning wood is a renewable, carbon-free source of energy — which is completely false. We need your help to stop this terrible idea from becoming law! Burning whole trees for power could mean billions of dollars in the pockets of the timber industry at the expense of our air, our health, and our climate.  Tell the Senate: Stand up for science, not the timber industry!
