Another DARK Act vote may come to the Senate soon, and big food companies have been pouring money and lobbying efforts into getting senators to pass the the Act before the July 1st implementation of Vermont’s GMO labeling law. Due to the immense pressure from companies like Monsanto, it’s likely some senators may cave rather than standing with their constituents. Call your senator to tell them to support GMO labeling and stand with the people rather than corporations. Then fill in the form to send an email to your senators to make sure they get the message. The fight for GMO labeling isn’t over yet, so make sure to keep contacting your politicians to keep the pressure on.
Tell the FDA GMO Mushrooms Aren’t Worth It
As usual, the USDA approved a GMO mushroom to be put on the market, without safety testing. What is the matter with them!! The mushroom was modified to not turn brown with age. It is now going to the FDA for review, so please tell the FDA we don’t want this GMO mushroom, especially before it is fully tested! The FDA needs to be reminded that they were created to protect the American people and the environment from dangerous products, and since this mushroom wasn’t tested for safety, it would be ill-advised for the FDA to approve it. Stop the ChemChina-Syngenta Merger
Just SIX companies control 75% of the world’s seed business. Two of those giants, ChemChina and Syngenta have proposed a merger that would create the world’s biggest GMO seed and chemical company, further consolidating control of the world’s food supply. The Committee on Foreign Investment is going to review this proposed merger for risks to national security, and it’s already known that the FDA and USDA were not included in this review, which is a big red flag. A Chinese company took over the U.S.’ largest pork company, and if this merger goes through, China would have an even bigger hold over our national food supply. Sign this petition to tell the president that we don’t want our food supply controlled by China or GMO companies.
