We all know lead exposure, especially to children, is harmful to the brain and nervous systems and can potentially cause lifelong health impacts like learning and hearing disabilities. Our country’s water infrastructure is old and falling apart, and there are still over 12 million lead pipes bringing water to communities around the country and in our children’s schools. Unfortunately, but not surprising, a disproportionate amount of these lead-contaminated pipes are found in low-income communities and communities of color.
Please tell Congress to fix our water infrastructure, especially in all schools and low income communities, so that everyone has access to healthy, clean, safe drinking water for everyone.
