Tell the USDA: No GMO Trees Without Public Approval Image result for tree

With all the talk about GMO’s lately, the USDA thinks they can get away with approving genetically modified trees without the public’s approval. Back in 2013, ArborGen proposed approval to the USDA for a genetically modified Eucalyptus tree; when the USDA brought this proposition to the public, the comments came flooding in to oppose this tree 10,000-to-1. Since they see how opposed we are of genetically modified trees, they decided to make this most recent decision to approve a GMO loblolly pine tree in secret with no public knowledge.

Tell New York Lawmakers: Support GMO Labeling Now

Tell New York lawmakers: Support GMO labeling now

New Yorkers, it is time to step up and let your voice be heard about GMO labeling. As human beings we all want and deserve the right to know what is in our food and this is a great step in that process.

Don’t let the government get away with not telling us where our food comes from. We are next on the list to decide if GMO labeling will pass in our state, we must let our voices be heard.

The proposed bipartisan legislation would ?require the labeling of genetically engineered seed, seed stock, and human food offered for retail sale in New York.? It is supported by hundreds of environmental and consumer organizations, businesses, health care professionals, scientists, chefs, and farmers. Click here to sign the petition.

Tell Policy Makers: Limit and Label Added Sugar

There is countless scientific evidence linking sugar consumption with diabetes, cancer, heart disease, obesity and other health problems. The inclusion of limiting and labeling added sugar in the official 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommendations is a critical step in curbing these rapidly growing problems. As the Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services consider these recommendations, tell them to follow the science and limit and label added sugar. With corporations in bed with the government, it is hard to get anything done in the White House, but with this petition we can push the lawmakers in the right direction. Is Factory Farmed Chicken Safe?

In today’s world where only 4 companies produce over half of all of the chickens sold in supermarkets, you have to wonder how they can be safe to consume. Chickens are pumped wiindexth antibiotics to keep them from getting sick and spreading disease in the cramped and crowded houses they keep them in. They are given high doses of hormones to increase muscle growth in a short amount of time. These chickens are highly stressed and go crazy from never seeing daylight for their entire lives. Now say you eat one of these chickens, you are eating those same antibiotics and hormones that were given to that chicken and you are also consuming that frantic and stressed out energy from that chicken. You tell me, does that sound safe to eat? Click here to take action against factory farms.
