I have been writing about the honey bee colony collapse for years now, and our government still has not banned the pesticides that are linked to their death! Study after study has connected their deaths to a dangerous class of pesticides called “neonics” yet nothing has been done!
We lost our 3 hives this past winter, and state beekeepers have reported losing more than 40% of their honeybee colonies between April 2017 and April 2018. We need our bees and pollinators to do their work, or we will have no food! They say that one out of every three bites of food we eat depends on them.
Exposure to these pesticides are also harmful for people, especially pregnant women and children. Emerging research suggests that exposure to neonics in the womb or early in life could be linked with developmental defects, autism, heart deformations, memory loss, and muscle tremors.
Please sign this petition, and tell our state legislators that we want them to protect our food supply and our children!
