This Thanksgiving, it is estimated that 46 million turkeys will be consumed, and another 22 million will be eaten on Christmas. Of those turkeys, around 85-90 percent will come from industrial factory farms, where the birds are pumped with GMO’s and antibiotics, they live in horrendous conditions with little or no access to the outdoors, and they have no ability to express their natural behavior. As consumers, we can choose to boycott the raising of industrial meat, and choose to purchase a locally sourced, sustainably raised turkey.
